Rent check in Delft
Delft is a student city above all. If you rent a room or studio near campus, there's a legal maximum, and many students never check it. Check yours in 2 minutes, in English.

The maximum rent is national law, so it works the same in Delft as anywhere in the Netherlands. Every home gets points for its size, energy label, kitchen, bathroom, outdoor space and WOZ value, and the points set the highest basic rent a landlord may ask.

Renting in Delft
Students at TU Delft and The Hague University of Applied Sciences' Delft campus rent from student-housing providers and from private landlords in the old town. Both are bound by the points system.
Moved in less than 6 months ago? If the rent is too high, the lower rent counts from your first day and you can claim the overpaid months back.
Local tip: the 6-month clock starts with your contract
Most students move in around September, so their 6-month window to get overpaid rent back runs out around March. If you moved in this academic year, check now, while the refund still counts back to day one.
Free local help
Ask the municipality (gemeente Delft) whether it offers free advice for tenants.
You can also file at the Huurcommissie yourself for €25. The procedure is in Dutch.
